“The Room” (2003). Bad cinema for neophytes

The Room. Director – Tommy Wiseau. IMDb rating – 3.6

One of the worst movies in history, which, thanks to its absurd screenplay, terrible dialogues, and monstrous acting, has become the epitome of the “so bad, it’s good” genre in the 21st century.

Unsuccessful actor and mysterious businessman Tommy Wiseau managed to raise six million dollars for a melodrama about a love triangle involving the friendly banker Johnny, his cheating girlfriend Lisa, and his best friend Mark. “You are tearing me apart, Lisa!”, “Oh hi, Mark!” and other lines from the movie have turned into quotes and sticker packs.

James Franco made a comedy called “The Disaster Artist” about the making of the film, and Bob Odenkirk from “Better Call Saul” recently played Johnny in a remake of “The Room.” Before watching, prepare plastic spoons to throw at the screen at the right moment – that’s the ritual.
